If you’ve had to activate emergency mode, this is an important Box to review. Here are some things to consider…

Review all instructions and look for anything that stands out like “Here’s where to start” or “Make sure to call our lawyer.” It’s possible that your Loved One made specific plans for you and those will be worth considering as early as possible.

Once you’ve made your preliminary review, we suggest that you look through all the Items listed here and prioritize them. Some might be useful for the sake of planning a memorial or instructions on when or how to inform people about what happened. Other Items may pertain to the distribution of assets. Obviously these Items will have different significance depending on where you are with the overall reconciliation timeline

Remember too that the Instructions here are not a legal document. They are wishes and should be respected However they do not trump a Legal Will or Formal Estate Plan.

NOTE – If you haven’t yet reviewed the Reconciliation Timeline outlined in the Emergency Access Tips, that might be a good place to start too.
